The staff at HTSS consist of people of all ages, backgrounds and levels of experience. Below is a short profile of a few members within the team
Barry Wilberforce (Managing Director)
Barry is the Managing Director of Hi-Tech Steels and has over 40 years experience in the steel industry. Before setting up Hi-Tech Steels, Barry was a founder of B & D steels. Now 62 years old, Barry plans to retire in 2 years time, handing the HTSS reigns to a younger generation of Directors
Chris Gardener (Group Director)
As well as jointly running HTSS’s North East branch, Chris is the Company’s Purchasing Director. As such, Chris visits mills across the world to secure allocations and product quality
Andy Flatt (Group Quality Manager)
Andy is responsible for the health and safety of the HTSS group, ensuring that HTSS lives up to the high standards set in the OHSAS 18001 Health and Safety. Further, Andy oversees HTSS’s Environmental standards, as well as being the Group Quality Manager. Hence, should there ever be any problem with material, Andy will be on hand to personally inspect the material.
